And today on hsr-hi3 expy stuff that sounds extremely concerning and suspicious if you know the right context, but normal otherwise: Sushang is at it again!

Apparently, she was taking sword lessons before she was even taught how to read. I was curious about whether her mom was going to be abusive towards her like in hi3 after she talked about her in the Aurum Alley event, and between her ch story part 4 and this, I'm leaning towards yes.

I was also wondering if Suyi would ever be playable, seeing as she basically has the same amount of character depth as Feima (hi3 Yanqing), and the fact that Sushang is bringing her up the moment Yaoqing characters were added gives me some hope.

Soo can we talk about the fact that after the meeting with Sunday, Ratio immediately asks if Aven is okay. Like my dude, you're still in the dream and are being watched, that's not how someone who just 'betrayed' another person  acts.

Also, Aven being the one who has to subtly correct Ratio (at least thats the interpretation im going with) reminding him that they still have to act like they hate each other. (They're both geniuses in completely different ways, textbook definition of book smarts vs streets smarts)

ALSO, dispite that slip up from Ratio, Aven still doubting whether Ratio was acting or not (someone get this man a hug and some therapy I swear)

Anyways, I love these 2 idiots, and I hope we get to see more of their dynamic, specifically outside Penacony, bc I suspect most of what we saw was an act to trick The Family, and their actual dynamic hasn't been shown that much

my thoughts/short ramble abt their dynamic utc

while all that happened was aventurine and ratio acting and fooling everyone, i dont think much in their dynamic would change outside of it. ratio is harsh and sarcastic and angry and loud etcetc (not out of malice) but he does care at the same time so i see him keep up his usual ratio-typical behavior towards aventurine - altho softening, toning it down, especially when aventurine is clearly suffering/behaving differently than you usually see him (like when he asked him if hes okay or when he thought he offended him) but other times harsh as usual, maybe even more aggressive when aventurine does get under his skin what a tsundere

(also, when you pair him with aventurine, he says (in his usual harsh way) "take care of yourself, i dont need your concern" - i think this shows really nicely how his dynamic/feelings toward aventurine are - harsh and caring in the same breath, aventurine is self destructive after all)

anw yea ig i derailed a bit sorry. i think ratio raised his usual behavior by some lvls than he would usually treat aventurine to not raise suspicions, trying to come off like he doesnt care and like aventurine is an unpleasant annoyance

the cutscene where aventurine is about lie and sentence himself? the look ratio gives him?

when aventurine is about to open the box that will expose his lie and he looks up to catch ratios gaze before he turns away ?

maybe im thinking too much into it, theres also prob different ways to interpret this but their lingering gazes, like a silent exchange between them underneath that act and ratio turning away when he gets his answer-

and yea like u mentioned ratios acting, his behavior towards aventurine, being so good that even aventurine is doubting if its an act or his true feelings towards him (giving him that hug myself!!!!!!)

hmmmm im ngl the trailer itself as a like prelude to what is coming in 5.0 intrigue and plot wise is like. compared to the region teasers that came before w lazzo and overture. its just. its kinda bad im sorry KWKJKWDJKWDJK like okay cool seeing the new cast and production value is high as always (+ music) but its such a middling teaser for the story itself?? it feels like a powerpoint presentation of the cast more than anything narratively coherent with an inherent draw and mystery

like theres mavuika speaking to the flame thingy (xbalanque that u? "one entombed in the primal fire" perhaps????) with some intrigue i suppose as well as her brief thing w capitano. ororon also appearing to be working together or aligned with capitano given theyre standing together there which could make for an interesting plot thread but beyond that its very.... eh. its not giving us a lot to grip onto ya know???? and thats rly a shame especially since i also felt that way abt the teaser in the 4.8 livestream. i wish we got more

and sure theres a tournament wahoo but like. its really Not helping to hype up that thing when half the introduced cast isnt being like "OMG the tournament!!!!1!1 this is HUGE!!!1" (or even. "oh no this is BAD!!!1" to set up basic conflict. like why would they dread it?) but instead just. mualani i think is rather bland to me, sth about her outfit and design just doesnt click for me even if the shark thing from the teaser before is neat and everything. the chibis are never sth im actively drawn to but like both do look okay, im kinda hoping kachina could be a lynette moment for 5.x and end up a free 4* since her exploration roomba looks p fun

That concept art one (ThoseWhoKnow...) . so instant massive W improvement solely on that basis holy fucking shit but ehhhhh im sorry i still dont know how to feel abt the very modern like. biker bodysuit thingy. im not a huge fan of the bodysuit type designs anyway so its not that surprising but still. her eyes + hair is absolutely stunning tho like not a question at all.

tbh in a way i kinda feel like having too many Thoughts on her design is kinda just unnecessary bc like. shes the archon. of Course the kit is going to be insane so i will get her anyway (UNLESS a pyro onfielder JKWJKJKWJKWJKWFKJ like god please no). and in terms of like is her design and energy from what this vid is giving us good enough that i wont like. but yeah. idk i just think as a teaser for the upcoming story its rly a shame how weak this felt for me???? like sure overture ended up being a bit of a misleading teaser since it gave the impression of arle as this mastermind of the fontaine AQ which didnt rly happen but it still served as a source of hype and intrigue. and yes lazzo is sth that can Never rly be beat in terms of how out of nowhere it was and how fucking insane the whole harbinger reveal went (+ elogia cinerosa existing) for lore and long term hype but its just. unfortunately those 2 are the regional teasers this natlan one is supposedly meant to parallel and it just didnt deliver anything comparable to those for me

Honestly the biggest problem with genshin is that sometimes they make very obvious stories that then get explained by Paimon like we're 5, so when there is actually good subtle story telling it flies over your head, like I was fresh off Ayaka quest where she is like "I'm lonely because I'm rich" then the lady at the restaurant goes "Ayaka is lonely because she's rich" then Paimon goes "wow Ayaka is lonely because she's rich" so when I played Yoimiya quest my brain was turned off

did u not catch the Subtle Storytelling that ayaka's mom was Also Lonely bc she was Rich and this is why she had a diary where she pretended to date her hot magic foxgirl fursona in a cave. was that not enough commentary for u. this is practically succession lvl of generational issues

asdfghj but yeah, bc quality of writing and lvl of subtlety is wildly inconsistent its a challenge to stay sharp. hoyo will like hammer shit over your head three times in a row, and then put like the most interesting storylines into item descriptions and think they are slick bc they're doing dark souls

Chapter 2

The least amusing part of her work was certainly the one where she had to serve hours of desk work on her computer in order to earn enough to sustain herself. While economically she wasn't in trouble, it was incredibly monotonous, and even if she was thankful that the era of office work was long deceased for minor employees like her, working from home was just as unstimulating. It was in fact hard to find anything stimulating when it contrasted heavily with the adrenaline rush of being Spider-Woman, and performing tasks that demanded the full capacity of all her senses. Even if she had reached a point where most of her vigilante work was also easier and eventually somewhat routinary, she had lately began to feel the excitement of being Spider-Woman again, which only turned up when she had a match in battle or simply something to feed her never-ending desire for mental exercise. The white entity from a day ago had disappeared from her radar leaving no trace, and she was only hoping it would turn up again in the shape of some conflict. Naturally, being Spider-Woman had taught her that supernatural beings tend to not like to settle, and consider such thing to be very human, so some ruckus was expected to happen and she was just waiting for it to call for her. This drive made her especially anxious to leave as soon as her senses warned her of commotion, getting rapidly geared up and shooting herself out the window with impressive speed. For someone in such a big and cramped city, one needs special agility and sense of reflex to get by, and with time she had learnt to master it, swiftly swinging through the crowd and swinging over and under the spiraling lanes that contorted around and across themselves like dozens of snail staircases. She jumped and swung moving further from urbanization and into the more open and spacious region of the city, filled with corporative colossal buildings. As her senses guided her through the turmoil of thousands of cars and the roaring sounds of the urbanization beneath it, she slowly descended onto walkable fields, pulling her hood back up to blend with the multitude. There was a growing commotion that manifested itself in the shape of agitated people walking with no sense of direction and tumult building up, which she tried to catch on to using her sharpened senses. A peculiar looking clairvoyant shook her hands in circular motion summoning a forming group of people around her as she chanted a warning "¡El hoyo en el cielo simboliza el fin de los tiempos!"* The concerning prophecy provoked her to quickly look up and eventually detect the cause of horror in the crowd. Just as the divination stated, multiple black holes that seemed to only take whoever dared to enter them into infinite void, contorted opening and closing several gaps of dimensional warping in the sky. She used her webs to jump onto a light post to catch a better glimpse of the anomalies, soon detecting just what she was expecting; the white entity jumping in and out of the hollow like it was completely casual. 

"Can those swallow you into eternal void?" Spider-Woman asked ironically as she jumped up onto the crown of a large and rusty hologram propaganda projector, trying to jump towards the nearest building in the hopes of crawling upwards to see clearly, however once she initiated her motion, she was met with an unexpected appearance of one of the black holes which consumed her into miliseconds of nothing but emptiness, before quickly opening back up like a portal, where she was met with a feisty kick in the face that sent her down on a rapid fall. She used her webs to grab onto the nearest surface that would aid her at dodging the impact, and once again fleeted back onto the top of the projector, crouching on it with her hands on the floor. "They can swallow you into eternal void, but they can also take you places. Was about time you showed up, Spider-Man." Behind her mask her brows furrowed into a frown of confusion, as far as she was concerned there was nothing masculine of her appearance. "Okay, rude.. But I gathered by your lack of a face that it might be difficult to see." As she tried to muster up the courage to retry her jump, having in front of her the clear possibility of another risky failure, a hole popped in front of her and the creature came out of it like a mole.

She finally was able to get a clear view of it, and not wasting too much time on staring at it, she attempted to strike a punch, which only ended up in half of her forearm being sucked into the abyss of a big black spot in the creature's face. What she thought at first were black spots around it's body were in reality multiple black holes such as the ones it opened in the sky. The hole pushed her out like a spit, causing her to fall on her back. "I haven't even introduced myself and you're already trying to punch me." She scoffed while getting back in a defensive possition, which camouflaged how puzzled she was at how to face a villain like that. "I mean you did kick me in the face first, so I owe you that." What only seemed like a painfully artificial laugh on it's behalf soon turned into silence before another hole opened in the gap between them. The white creature's arm popped out of it in an attempt to punch her, which she rapidly dodged catching it's wrist with a web to jump into the hole and meet it right in the beginning of the new one, finally being able to strike an offensive. She rapidly jumped back to the projector. "Ouch. I take it you're the Spider-Girl, Spider-Woman.. Spider-Whatever of your dimension." She nodded in a grin taking pride in the recognition of her image, but soon enough as she tried to take a step forward, she fell into another hole which only took her to another freefall that she saved herself from by swinging on a light post and immediately jumping onto the roof of a smaller building. As she launched a web into the hole it was jumping in, she was able to latch onto it's back and pull the creature out of it and by consequence, on top of her. Continuing to make attempts to catch the entity, which ended in her hardly being able to punch it a few times, she threw a web into one of the hollow dark gaps opened by the creature, soon ending up hitting her on the head instead as it opened it's continuation in front of her, sending her down to the ground violently. "Listen, I know it's your job to save the city and all that, but if you make this easier for us I will trully get rolling from this dimension as soon as you let me. Trust me I have no intentions of staying... here." The creature hopped onto another hole and continued to form a staircase of the anomalies towards one of the big windows on the skyscraper next to them.

"Why would it go there?" She mumbled to herself as she thought of a way to filter herself in. Soon enough, it was giveaway thanks to the giant Alchemax sign which projected itself in a giant hologram; dimensional warping, dimensions, Alchemax. Whatever that mysterious figure was up to couldn't be no good. She squirmed, releasing herself from her own webs before securing a strong grip of webs against the windows of the skyscraper. She jumped, propelled by all the strength she could give to her legs. She possitioned herself to be ready to kick the thick glass into shattering, which resulted in a painful fall, rolling in the cold ground of the office. The tumult caused by the spotted being's unconventional entrance seemed to only become graver as it moved closer to the collider. Spider-Woman slided on tables and webbed herself to any surface that could help her move faster, but her attempts of catching the figure were quite useless, as it seemed to flawlessly master the use of it's holes to move around the space and dodge her webs. A sudden noise that could only be described as the distortion of the sound field itched her to look back through the corner of her eye, only to divise the formation of another hole of dazzling warm colors which distorted the ones around it. Both her and the spotted being had interrupted their battle to observe the phenomenon, which she could only hope was just as unexpected to the creature as it was was to her.

From inside of it jumped a dark silhouette which ejected neon ropes that seemed to play a role similar to her webs, attempting to reach the hole where the creature was in to catch it. "Careful with that-" She witnessed the new guy commit the exact same mistake as she did, meeting the same painful fate of a sudden and unexpected strike in the head. Her face contorted into a painful frown, as she ran towards them. The spotted entity soon warped another hole into the office next to them, locking itself within it by activating a large veil of hologramic particles that prevented their entrance. Ridding itself from all the scientists inside it using it's holes, she made unsuccessful attempts of breaking the barrier, with the help of the guy who had just jumped out of what she supposed was another interdimensional hole.  "Look, I know this is a bad time to introduce eachother, but I have no idea who you are or why you came out of that hole, and maybe you know why we're fighting this-" Her beginning of a sentence was abruptly interrupted by the man beside her, masked by a suit quite similar to her's. "The Spot, he's getting away!" Spider-Woman only gathered from that rude cut-off that whatever that white entity was, his name was Spot, and by the vicious nature of the strikes the mysterious guy was uselessly giving to the hologram curtain, she assumed the initiation of the collider, which was an extreme liability to her city, was also risking wherever he came from. 

The collider had been used before, but was still in a testing field, and was of extreme danger especially if used by potential villains, but that's just stating the obvious. Now clearly to these guys there was no need of a collider to move around through dimensions, at least for the mysterious one with the neon webs. Spot seemed to have the capacity of creating gaps in the dimension he's in to move around where he pleased, but he seemed to need a collider to move accross them, probably indicating that he was not from her's. The other guy however seemed to be able to do this without the need of a giant collider. People from her universe had been trying to grasp the concept of interdimensional travelling for about ten years, and as far as she knew, it was plausible and possibly confirmed that there existed other Brooklyns with other Spider-Women in charge of saving the city simultaneous to her timeline, however it was hard to grasp that they could be male, or could jump into her dimension unanounced.

The Spider-Man sat defeated on the floor before an audible groan of rage, punching into the floor. Spider-Woman walked into the once locked office where Spot activated the collider, the sequence had carried out effectively and without major harm, while it did impact the surroundings, the building seemed to be safe. She turned to see the mysterious Spider-Man looking guy kneeled on the floor, and walked towards him to check on him and make a new attempt at introducing herself. "Hey, can we try that again? This jumping out of interdimensional holes is kind of new to me.." She looked down at him, her hands resting her on her waist. He stood up and the gadget on his arm displayed a hologram. "LYLA, scan the damage." The AI performed a sequence of sounds before replying; "Just some collateral damages on the building, canon remains intact." The man sighed before putting down his arm, the AI disappearing into the watch.

"My name is Miguel O'hara, I am Spider-Man, from another dimension..." She scratched the back of her neck before pointing at him, who was about to start explaining to her the concept of other dimensions before being interrupted by her. "Yeah, I gathered that. How did you even...? You know..." Her hands attempted to gesture how he jumped out of a strange gap in space and time like it was nothing. "Here we need that collider over there to do that." He was not paying much attention to her, but rather invested in scanning and reading data off his watch's yellow projections of a hologram. "It's complicated. Listen, that man who just activated your collider is a threat to time and space and all it's dimensions, including yours and mine." As he spoke, the gizmo on his wrist re-opened the portal from which he had come out of earlier. He began walking on it's direction, turning to toss her a gadget like his. "There's a lot to explain, we'll talk on the way."

I just did Albedo's trial test in my alt accnt in Asia (cause I forgot it exist rip) and I come to complain /lh

The audacity of Hoyoverse to put Cinnabar Spindle on his trial instead of the Jade Cutter kind of pisses me of LMAO. I have this sword on my main in EU and I would say that this is really his best weapon. He easily procs 30k+ every tick and im very happy for my boy :))

But I pulled him on my alt too and use Harbinger of Dawn on him. Which is not bad honestly, its his second best. He still manage to do 20k per tick. And he would prolly do more if I built him on full defence (since I had him on dps build on my alt). But back to my main point lol.

It just annoying that Hoyo put Cinnabar here when new players pulling for Albedo would like: "heyyy this weapon suits his aesthetic a lot! Where can i get it?" And yeah no, its limited so we cant get it anymore 🤡 and his build in the trial is so??? Idk...subpar? Even my dps albedo who have trash artefacts could do more LMAO i just felt like mhy did him dirty here its like asking for players specifically not to pull for him because his performance in the test run is bad lol (well even more bad than usual ig. Cause hyv just mostly put noblesse on some characters lmao but at least they work still?)

In any case, i know its a limited event weapon. But like the events that have heavy lore, hyv should idk put a shop or something so that new players or those who miss it could get it in the future. Just dont make it free (like u can get it in exchange for mora or starglitters or like fishing [eg. The catch]) to make it fair for the older players or smth. As an ar59 player, i am honestly sad that the new albedo havers cant have him on his best potential because his bis weapon is locked in a limited event :(( and i doubt we will get the annual dragonspine event this year because Albedo already rerun so early shakwnh

i was so excited when i caught up to everything in the main story. i got sick beyond belief for a month i come back WHAT HAPPENED. I was starting on max levelling all my valentines mr cards... I come back and part 6 is out and there's a whole new event where artem looks like he's going to start white boy rapping at me. i love him desperately but he looks like he's going to try and get me to Just Say No To Drugs. vyn isn't much better but he gets a pass for the little dual necklace thing. i was gonna come back, freshly read your whole like 45 page what is essentially a dissertation on tot and share in my delight in getting into this game i'm just. OVERWHELMED. i'll come back though, yknow eventually when i catch up again? i guess? -💚

oh gosh, im sorry to hear you got sick, i hope ur well now!!! and kbKBJDFS YEA, A LOT HAPPENED IN MARCH LMAO. there was a new content drought in feb particularly to drum up excitement for both parts of main story 6 and then at the tail end of 6.2, they also dropped Electrifying Night so that we wouldnt all be staring at our hands mumbling "what the fuck" at everything that happened in 6.2, i suppose. 6.2 was WILD AND IM STILL THINKING ABOUT IT

on electrifying night tho, agree. artem looks SO NERDY WITH HIS HIPSTER GLASSES WHICH SHOULD BE 100% FAKE AND/OR HAVE NO LENSES. i love vyn's outfit tho cuz it's Sublimely Gender, like, he won this event. it wasnt a competition, but he won. NOW IF ONLY HIS SSR WOULD COME HOME TO ME.....

backstory !

was raised in a traveling commune, which bounced between state parks and forests. all intense survivalists but also...not, like obvs can’t have sustained agriculture traveling from park to park, so the group’s leaders would often detour alone to pick up supplies every now and then. 

but a horrible place to grow up, not that he knew that ‘cos it’s the only life he’s ever known. was just a pretty violent / toxic atmosphere with a hyper survival of the fittest mentality, a lot of sparring that would go too far, not nearly enough resources for the weather conditions, or anyone with actual medical training for when anyone got sick or injured - all under the guise of self sufficiency.  

also very poorly homeschooled, chase barely knows how to read, and stories/info was often read to them or recited by memory. 

at eighteen he’s given more responsibility, gets to go on supply runs. goes to like, cvs, for the first time. hates it FJHG, really just has no desire to explore more of the world even though he knows for sure it’s out there now. his ‘family’ are thrilled about this - knowing they basically have him for life.

trains and mentors the younger members, unwittingly encourages violence, sort of pushing them to their limits because for the group it’s less about winning and more about being able to survive - endurance and being able to endure is so wrapped up in reverence which he mistakes for love. 

when he’s twenty the whole commune gets busted, apparently they had been secretly under investigation for a while. his parents were in the commune too but never make that distinction known so the cops tell him and he’s like ok and ? just like, doesn’t know that that’s meant to mean anything.

goes to jail directly to jail does not pass go ... takes a bit to go to trial, but he ends up serving two years. and that’s what you missed on glee ! currently living with his grandparents at lilac ridge, which is weird. they feel very much like strangers. also on parole still, f in the chat.

personality !

hates it here, feels like shit just wants to go vibe in the woods again. is a lot more quiet than he used to be, truly flopping like a fish out of water.

always saying the wrong thing then getting frustrated at himself bc humiliating ! and if no one respects him, ‘cos he knows nothing about anything anymore then how can anyone ever love him ! this thought depresses him - finds it super hard to make friends ! doesn’t understand any pop culture references.

can be a bit rude, a wee bit hostile, physically aggressive, immature. just doesn’t think before he speaks smh. won’t admit when he’s wrong either will just be like, ya that’s what i meant. 

competitive as heck ! catch him trying to out chin-up the person next to him at the outdoor gym down at the beach. loves games too, but not like board games, think he’s only ever played cards anyways ... but like, duck duck goose. 

for all the survivalist training, not even that street smart (and not book smart at all). like ya he can identify types of mushrooms and wipe his ass with a leaf in a pinch but i mean he doesn’t need to do that now rip. 

easily influenced but pretends he isn’t, his grandparents were like chaser ? that’s no name. we’ll call you chase. and he was all like whatevs ... but now he introduces himself to people as chase.

fun facts !

other song choice for app was cop car by mitski, but chase doesn’t listen to music. or particularly like it, but he’s had to get used to his grandparent’s excessive radio use.

has dimples, very cute when he smiles. this is a fact and i personally find it very fun.

will eat anything. tho his fave food is honey on toast the cottagecore girlies are quaking !

favourite story is jack and the beanstalk which he still thinks was made up by the commune. doesn’t know it’s an actual book/tale bc they’d always recount it by memory.

everyone called him chaser because he was good at chasing people FGHJ, king of tag !

begrudgingly saving up for a phone, doesn’t see the point of it but apparently it’s imperative for his “ future life prospects ” ???

really feels out of the loop with everything like he’ll never be caught up but, someone give him a pop culture 101 lesson !

alternatively people who either know his grandparents ( who i imagine as a muriel and eustace FGJKH ) or live in lilac ridge ! 

people he gets in fights with...grew up where violence was a first resort unforch so the moment things get heated he’s throwing hands. or like, him asking who do you need me to beat up to someone sad over an ex or smth and actually meaning it...
